Peace Park

The West Indianapolis Peace Park was created in the summer of 2010 to remember community members from the West Side of Indianapolis, who lost their lives to drugs or violence. The West Indianapolis Community Fund presented the organization a grant to help support their mission of awakening Peace, Change and Inspiration.

In only 66 day last summer, the West Indianapolis Peace Park became a reality and serves as an example that good things happen…even during the struggle of overcoming pain and heart ache. The Peace Park is living proof that change can happen when people work together

The West Indianapolis Community Fund (WICF) was established because we believe the best way to improve our neighborhood is working together on projects we develop and finance right here in the community. The West Indianapolis Community Fund is happy to have provided a grant to help make the Peace Park a reality.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors WICF has funded 29 projects in West Indianapolis since its inception in 2009. These grants were offered to neighbors or community organizations to improve the community and were many times matched with their own volunteerism and dollars. While many of these  were small grants they have produced big physical and social change.
